at the Woven Treasures Production Center.

| Bekir,
the man in charge of running the Woven Treasures Production Shop in
Turkey. Bekir's brother is our master-dyer, Ramazan.
These two brothers are renowned for their talents and tastes. They
are both an important part of the Woven Treasures family. |

In
this photograph, our newly woven Production (shown here, Production
4 - Persian Serapi) is "aged" with fire. This is a complex
process, which gently softens the rug's fibers and colors, giving
it an older look and feel. Burning a rug like this to warm the colors
can only be done with hand woven rugs made of 100 percent organic
wool. This should never be done by anyone other than a trained professional.
If this process were tried on a synthetic rug, the plastic fibers
would melt and burn uncontrollably, and could be very dangerous. Wool
is a living fiber - hair. If you take a match to a piece of hair,
you will find that it burns only for a second, and then goes out almost
immediately. This is what happens to this rug when it is burned. Once
the rug has been burned to the desired effect, it will be brushed
and washed. The result is a softer, warmer looking rug. For our Production
line, we have paid the closest attention to every detail, insuring
absolute quality. |

|
| Firing
the rug evenly is a painstaking process. Here, a second worker has
taken over the job as it stretches late into the day. |

After
examine the rug's color and condition from the first burning, it is
decided that a second burning will be required to yield the desired
results. The rug is brought back to the workshop for a second round.
Here the worker runs his torch across our Persian Serapi (Production
4), locked deep concentration to insure an even burn. |

The outcome
of this meticulous and painstaking process - Woven Treasures Production
4, Persian Serapi. The beauty of this rug proves that it is
worth all of the time and effort that goes into making a classic
Production.
